Second, click the “Select” button and browse to the ISO file you downloaded. First, in the “Device” box, select your USB drive. Launch Rufus and insert your USB flash drive into your computer to get started. ( Warning: The contents of the USB drive you use will be erased.) Some Linux distributions may need larger drives if they have larger installers, but 4 GB should be fine for most Linux distributions, including Ubuntu. Ubuntu’s official instructions recommend Rufus, too.
